This American Life has a brilliant show about where all our stuff comes from. It starts with the question, "who makes Apple products?" It's a tough look at the people who make the things we use every day and makes the point that EVERYTHING we use is hand made. Because people are cheap and infinite in some places, but thankfully even that changes with time.
