Horst P Horst

I can't find any decent books for this man. However, Google Image Search does a lovely job of curating Horst P Horst's remarkable body of work

Fashion Illustration - The New Book

There's a new Great Big Book of Fashion Illustration. I've been lucky enough to have some of my own work included. (You can see that here.) My pick of illustrators from the book, the one who's company I'm proudest to be in, is Robyn Nicole Neild. She has a great big range of styles that really impress me. You can see her portfolio here. Enjoy.

Jo Schwab's Portraits

Jo Schwab celebrates the differences in his sitters. They're wonderful and disturbing photographs. Definitely worth a few moments thought.

Lagoi & Lace

I think this is an interesting portfolio piece. It's by two Cologne photographers and it's based on themed love hotels found in Japan. It's an odd, provocative and quite large project. Pretty cool to see.

Versailles vs Anime

There is a great set of photographs at Guardian.co.uk of the Takashi Murakami exhibit at Versailles. The beautifully finished anime inspired sculptures juxtapose wonderfully with the ornate decoration of Versailles. The Golden Oval Buddha is especially interesting with the gardens as a dramatic backdrop. I've been reading about Matisse in 1905 and I  imagine that his paintings would have juxtaposed very similarly against the academic paintings surrounding his at the Paris salons. Quite a wonderful shock.

Makes Odd Hours

Pierre Dal Corso photographs the strangest angles. The models are puppets in his lens. It's remarkable.

New Drawings on Boundless

There are a few new drawings at Boundless Optimism, my drawing portfolio. They're not completely safe for work, but they're drawings... so it's art. Hope you like them.

The Other Side by Tiny Tim

The ice caps are melting, this Tiny Tim guy is acting like a fish and little girls are singing a chorus including the words "the tide is rising to wash away the sins". Sheer lunacy. It's beautiful. Your day will be better for watching this and singing along.

Some Drawings of the Inky Variety

I've managed to do some scans of some old-ish and some recent drawings for my drawing portfolio. There's something for everyone.

Drawings of dogs & drawings of nudes.

Your choice. Nobody is watching. Or simply see everything at Boundless Optimism.
