Girl Effect are experts in media, mobile, brand and international development. Founded by the Nike Foundation in 2004, today they’re an independent creative non-profit working from nine global locations and active in 66 countries.
Girl Effect has restructured around five core business functions, one of which is called CREATE.
The overall objective of the restructure is to build a more agile, connected and collaborative organisation that is set up to successfully deliver against an ambitious three year strategy.
The director of CREATE was given the task of defining the new function and its role in Girl Effect.
How we helped
Girl Effect and the CREATE project is close to our hearts so we did this pro bono.
We used a participatory design approach with the CREATE directors to develop an authentic, action focused narrative for the function.
Through the process the team developed a shared understanding of what CREATE could become and how to articulate that.
The result was a set of principles and shared language for the new function with clear messaging for departments across the organisation.
There was a shared commitment to the CREATE function from all the key creative departments and leadership.
It’s early days, but CREATE will continue to develop and gain traction. We watch with interest.
